Step Lifts

Terry's TSL 1000 StepliftWhen considering the purchase of a step lift, it is important to consider a number of points:-

  1. what is the maximum height of travel?
  2. is there enough space to allow a wheelchair user safe and easy access at the top and bottom parking points?
  3. is there a safe, smooth path to and from the step lift?
  4. what structural alterations will be needed to accommodate both the step lift user and any other persons sharing or visiting the home?
  5. will the potential user be able to operate the lift on their own?

We provide a free survey and an impartial advice service to assess the proposed site for the lift and the potential lift user.  We always supply a written quotation.

We offer a choice of lifts from Terry and which usually enables us to find solutions to a wide variety of client needs and situations.

A standard step lift is usually sited close to, or adjacent to, a door allowing maximum space in front or to the side so that wheelchair users have sufficient turning space to get in and out of the lift as easily and safely as possible. This applies to both ground level and the entrance to the house.

There are a number of different configurations that will be dictated by the position of the step lift: from straight up and down with a gate on the upper level to a triple step bridging unit which literally creates steps when it is in the ‘down’ position and has level access when in the ‘up’ position.

All the lifts have full battery back-up as standard and the stainless steel/aluminium finish ensures that they are suitable for outdoor use. The controls are conveniently situated and the shallow approach ramp means comfortable and safe access and egress.
